Job Overview 
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Health Care Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing essential support in patient care, assisting medical professionals, and ensuring smooth clinical operations across various departments including hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, and emergency settings. 

This role will be on a Bank basis and for an Agency 

Responsibilities 

Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and vital signs 
Support patient care activities such as medication administration under supervision and monitoring patient status 
Document patient information accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ICD coding 
Prepare examination rooms and assist healthcare providers during procedures, including X-ray and other diagnostic tests 
Support hospital medicine activities in inpatient, outpatient, Geriatrics, or surgical units 
Maintain a clean and safe environment adhering to infection control protocols 
Assist with emergency procedures in Level I or Level II trauma center settings 
Provide excellent patient service by addressing patient needs with professionalism and empathy 
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical documentation 
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in various clinical settings including OR, PICU, or urgent care 

Qualifications 

Prior experience in hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or emergency medicine preferred; experience in Geriatrics, Medical-surgical units, or Level I/II trauma centers is advantageous 
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols 
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or specific clinical areas are a plus 
Strong communication skills with the ability to provide exceptional patient service 
Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and familiarity with medical administrative support tasks 
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as urgent care centers or hospital settings 
Demonstrated understanding of inpatient and outpatient care processes across various specialties including internal medicine and pediatrics (PICU)
