Providing support to individuals based on their choice and not defining people by their support needs; our name accurately describes who we are.
Choice Support is a charitable Community Benefit Society, formed in 1984, that supports autistic people, people with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs.
Our purpose is to support people to find opportunities for creating their own happiness, and our values: We care, we respect, we learn, we lead, are at the core of everything we do.
We are a trusted support provider with almost 40 years' experience. We employ around 2,600 dedicated staff who support around 1,400 people, from Hampshire and East Sussex, in the south, to Yorkshire in the north.
In the late 1980s, we were part of the movement to support people out of the big institutions and back into their local communities. Those were big, bold, and brave steps back then and we stand firmly on these foundations today.
We still innovate and support people to stand up for their own rights for example by running their own self-advocacy group called the Our Rights Group. We have Quality Checkers with lived experience who talk to people we support to get feedback, which helps us improve what we do, and we are always looking at how new assistive technologies can help the people we support.
We are regulated and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), see our ratings. We also work with the CQC to employ Experts by Experience (ExE), to help inspect services across England.
