We’re seeking an experienced female Support Worker to join our specialist supported living home in Edgware, London, earning £13.78 per hour. We have full-time and part-time opportunities available, including day shifts and waking night contracts. Typical shift patterns include 7:00am–2:30pm, 2:15pm–9:45pm, and 9:45pm–7:15am.
In this role, you’ll provide 2:1 support to a young woman in her early 30s who lives independently in her own home. We’re looking for someone who is emotionally resilient, experienced, and confident in supporting complex behaviours. Your focus will be on helping her feel safe and understood, while supporting daily routines such as meal preparation and personal care. She enjoys Barbie, Only Fools and Horses, animals, and local social interests, so a creative and warm approach will help build a positive relationship.
You’ll work within a clear Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework and receive specialist training as part of your induction. Consistency, calmness, and patience are essential, as you’ll need to adapt to changing needs while maintaining a supportive, person-centred approach.
About youYou’ll have proven experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours of distress. Strong communication skills are vital, along with confidence in using alternative communication methods. You’ll be comfortable with personal care, medication administration, record-keeping, and working flexibly across different shifts. Emotional resilience, empathy, and alignment with our values are key to thriving in this role.
