Senior Young People Support Worker
We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to lead and support a team helping young people in Sutton build safe and independent futures.

Position: Senior Young People Support Worker
Location: Sutton
Salary: £31,203 per annum (including London Weighting) plus pension and benefits
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract: 12 month fixed term contract

About the Role

This role involves leading a small team that supports young people in Sutton who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. You’ll oversee service delivery, ensuring high-quality support, safe accommodation, and opportunities that help young people move towards independence.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage, support and develop a small team of Support Workers and volunteers
  • Oversee case management, risk assessments and support plans
  • Deliver direct support to young people, both one-to-one and in groups
  • Work collaboratively with local agencies and partners to achieve positive outcomes
  • Ensure services meet safeguarding, safety and contractual standards
  • Manage financial processes including rent and petty cash
  • Oversee property maintenance and ensure a safe environment for residents and staff
  • Promote participation and client involvement in shaping services

About You

You’ll be a proactive, organised and compassionate leader with a genuine desire to make a difference. You’ll bring:

  • Experience of supervising or leading a small team
  • Background working with vulnerable young people or those affected by homelessness
  • Understanding of safeguarding, support planning and tenancy management
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
