As a Specialist Care support worker you will play a crucial part in supporting this individual to live a meaningful and fulfilled life despite any physical or mental challenges they may face on a daily basis. You will empower those you support to identify their goals, pursue their hobbies and in some cases, be part of the local community.

You’re an experienced, empathetic and resilient Support Worker, deeply committed to assisting individuals with a unique range of disabilities and associated health needs. You will be compassionate, observant, patient and confident. You will be skilled in monitoring changes in mood and developing techniques to calm and de-escalate. Ideally you will have knowledge and experience of complex needs including, but not limited to, hoisting and PEJ feeding. You’re able to communicate clearly and sensitively with vulnerable people and their families, and always adopt a person-centred approach.

You enjoy helping individuals to be independent through companionship, providing reassurance and enabling confidence. You take pride in doing a great job and are happy assisting with cooking, domestic duties, personal care, attending appointments and social activities. You’re keen to develop your career through training, learning and gaining relevant qualifications.

As a member of our Specialist Care Support Team, you will be passionate about making a difference to an individual’s life. The purpose of the role is to support our customers to achieve life goals and aspirations through social, emotional, physical and cultural requirements in a person centred way, as outlined in the customers individualised care plan, in a manner that is professional, positive and upholds the values of the SCiA Group.

A full detailed job description can be provided upon request and will be given as part of our recruitment process.

*Genuine occupational requirement under part 1, schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
