About the role:
We are looking for a dedicated, experienced, and proactive support worker to join our supported living home in Greenford. You’ll be supporting three gentlemen who each live in their own self-contained flat within the same building, providing 24-hour support on a rota basis.
In this hands-on role, you’ll work as part of a close-knit team to empower the individuals we support to live more independently and engage within their local community. This is a truly rewarding opportunity where you’ll play a key role in enhancing their daily lives and helping them achieve their personal goals.
The gentlemen you’ll support have autism, learning disabilities, mental health, and behaviours of distress. Two of the gentlemen do not use words to communicate, you will be expected to use and understand alternative methods of communication tailored to each individual's needs. Daytime support is delivered on a 2:1 basis, with 1:1 support overnight. Each person has a dedicated key worker, and staff work flexibly across all three.
We’re seeking someone who is active, creative, and calm under pressure, someone who can think on their feet and adapt to changing situations. Previous experience in a similar or transferable setting is essential. You’ll need to demonstrate confidence, patience, a willingness to learn, and the resilience to build relationships over time.
Your responsibilities will include encouraging personal care, supporting meal preparation in partnership with the gentlemen we support, and using an online planner to help structure their routines. The gentlemen enjoy a wide variety of interests, including swimming, theatre trips, farm visits, motorway drives, and outings to places like the London Zoo and the docks.
