Salary Scale: £12.21ph to £14.60ph, progression through these salary scales is dependent upon experience, NVQ/ QCF and continued development.

JOB PURPOSE
Ensuring that our young people are given every opportunity to reach their full potential and achieve positive outcomes, while seeing to it that the support provided meets the regulations of the Supported Accommodation Regulations (England) 2023.
Young People First (YPF) is a supported accommodation provider that offers a person-centred approach to supported accommodation services for vulnerable young people and young adults. Our aim is to safeguard these young people, support them into being able to live independently and achieve their full potential in life and therefore giving them a much brighter future.
YPF operates across the North West of England, South Yorkshire and the East Midlands and due to continuous expansion based on a number of success stories and positive feedback, we are looking for passionate, caring and driven support workers to join our dedicated team. Your geographical area of work will be the North West (Manchester primarily, however you may be required to work in other areas of the North West at times) depending on where you are based and your preference of area. In order to provide the required support to young people, the staff team are required to work shifts allocated by YPF, including weekends, evenings, sleep in’s and the young people’s annual holidays.
Due to the nature of the support provided by the organisation, staff are expected to work in a flexible way and at times carry out tasks not specifically outlined in the job descriptions to meet the needs of the service. The post holder is expected to conduct themselves professionally, to work within the current legislative framework and adhere to the Organisation Policies and Procedures at all times.
KEY DUTIES
To work in a positive, respectful and empowering way with all young people in order to promote good relationships and encourage achievement and proactively ensure the outstanding support of young people. To interact on an individual and group basis with all young people and provide a positive role model, maintaining high professional standards at all times.
To maintain appropriate routines, limits and boundaries for the young people at all times and encourage young people to understand the importance of action and consequence and the importance of appropriate positive relationships.
To support the educational, employment and training developments and achievements of the young people, and remain informed about educational matters and contribute to the development of educational opportunities.
To act, if assigned, as key worker to a particular young person in order to provide support and ensure the implementation of their individual care plan. To contribute to the assessment and care planning process and ensure high standards of safe working practices are adhered to at all times.
To contribute to the development of daily programmes and individual/group plans and actively participate in social, recreational and educational activities with the young people. To participate in and encourage the participation of the young people in the domestic tasks of the home in order to develop their independence skills.

· Safeguarding and protecting young people from harm’s way.
· Establishing positive relationships with young people
· To ensure that the physical, cultural, emotional, religious, educational and psychological needs of young people are respected and met
· Supporting and encouraging young people to learn life skills to promote independence
