About the roleWe’re looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Support Worker to join our friendly team in Winnersh, Wokingham. You’ll be supporting three adults with learning disabilities, autism and epilepsy to live active, meaningful and fulfilling lives.
Who you will be supporting:You’ll support three individuals — two men and one woman — all of whom are wheelchair users.
One gentleman requires 24-hour support due to epilepsy, partial sight loss and behaviours of distress.
They enjoy a wide variety of activities, including:
- Theatre trips, activity clubs and local walks
- Swimming — an all-round favourite
- Music festivals, bowling and seaside trips
- Community activities and social outings
Your support will help them maintain dignity, choice, independence and confidence.
What you will be doingEvery day is different, and you’ll play an important role in supporting people to lead fulfilling lives. You will support with:
Personal careDelivered with dignity, respect and a person-centred approach.
Community supportProviding 1:1 and 2:1 support for activities, appointments and outings.
Mobility supportAssisting wheelchair users and ensuring comfort and safety.
Meal preparationSupporting with daily meals and ensuring dietary needs are met.
Medication administrationFull training provided.
Household supportHelping with shopping, cooking, budgeting and attending GP or hospital appointments.
Emotional supportOffering reassurance, responding positively to behaviours of distress, and promoting wellbeing.
Shift patternsThis is a 37.5-hour full-time role worked flexibly across the week.
Typical shifts include:
- 7:00am – 3:00pm
- 2:00pm – 10:00pm
- Occasional sleep-ins: 10:00pm – 7:00am (£50 per sleep-in)
Rotas are shared in advance to support a healthy work-life balance.
