About Dimensions
A role where you can be you. At Dimensions, you can bring your whole self to work – and be celebrated for it. You’ll support people with learning disabilities and/or autism to live independently, building confidence and joy every day. “I can be myself and really make a difference” – current Support Worker. With wellbeing at the heart of our culture and growth through Aspire and Dimensions Academy, this is more than a job – it’s a place to truly be you.
About the Role
- Support Worker
- Part time – 12 or 22 hours per week
- £12.64 per hour
- Watford, WD19
- Full UK driving licence with own car and business insurance.
If you enjoy trains, coffee shops, Disney films, and days that are never the same, this could be the perfect role for you.
We’re looking for a patient, upbeat and proactive Support Worker to work alongside a gentleman in his 30s who wants to live life on his terms—with independence, routine, and choice. He loves model railways, exploring cafés, trips to zoos and theme parks, catching shows at the theatre, and unwinding with YouTube, Disney classics, and The Masked Singer.
Some days he’s full of energy and keen to get out and explore; on others, he needs time, reassurance, and gentle encouragement. Your calm presence, creativity and consistency will help him feel safe, understood, and empowered.
He has a diagnosis of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), which means everyday tasks can sometimes feel overwhelming. He may delay, resist, or become anxious around demands. You will support him by using low-demand approaches, offering choices, giving space, recognising emotions, and working at his pace so that he feels in control and confident. Your role will include personal care, daily routines, meal preparation, maintaining his home, planning outings, and helping him build independence.
A UK driver with your own car and business insurance is essential, as being able to get out and about is a big part of his routine and wellbeing.
