About dimensions

At Dimensions, every day is a chance to make a real difference. As a Support Worker in Hertfordshire, you’ll bring purpose and stability to someone’s life – helping them enjoy the routines and moments that matter most to them. Recognised as a Great Place to Work for seven years running, we’ll support you to grow, feel valued, and take pride in the difference you make every single day.

About the role

  • Support Worker
  • Full time or part time contracts considered.
  • Days and Waking night vacancies available.
  • Bricket Wood, St Albans
  • £13.78 per hour
  • Full UK driving licence essential.

We are recruiting experienced Support Workers to join a team supporting two active gentlemen in their community and in their home. Although they do not currently display behaviours of distress, both have a history of complex behaviours, so we are looking for someone confident, resilient, and skilled in maintaining boundaries and routines.

Both men enjoy busy, fun, community-based lives, packed with hobbies, clubs, and social engagement. You will play an active role in supporting their routines, encouraging independence, developing new skills, and ensuring consistent, structured support. This role involves personal care, medication administration, and meal preparation.

The shift pattern varies between early mornings and late evenings, with the latest finish around 11pm. Rotas are published four weeks in advance and include bank holidays. Weekends are rotated, although patterns may vary to meet support needs. You will need to work flexibly around planned events, holidays, and routines.

About you

You will have previous experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, or complex behaviours of distress. You must be confident in communicating clearly, using consistency, and maintaining professional boundaries in line with the needs of the people supported.

Aligned with the Dimensions JDPS, you will demonstrate:

  • Ambition – helping people set goals and reach their potential.
  • Courage – confidence supporting individuals with a history of behaviours of distress and promoting positive change.
  • Integrity – clear, respectful communication and professional conduct.
  • Partnership – teamwork with colleagues, families, and professionals.
  • Respect – treating everyone with dignity and supporting people to make their own choices.

You will also be flexible, reliable, values-driven and committed to providing high-quality, person-centred support.
