Young People Support Worker
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support young people in Sutton to build brighter, more independent futures.

Position: Young People Support Worker
Location: Sutton
Salary: £16,581.79 actual salary
Hours: 22.5 hours per week on a rota including early, late and weekend shifts
Contract: Permanent, Part Time
Closing Date: Tuesday 21st October 2025

About the Role

This role supports young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness within supported accommodation. You’ll work directly with residents to help them develop the skills and confidence to live independently and move on positively from support services.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver person-centred support to young people aged 16–25
  • Create and review support and risk management plans
  • Help residents access training, education, work or volunteering
  • Promote engagement and involvement in decision-making
  • Manage day-to-day housing responsibilities such as rent collection and safety checks
  • Liaise with external agencies to ensure joined-up support
  • Keep accurate case notes, reports and logs
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment

About You

You’ll be a motivated, empathetic and organised individual who thrives on helping young people achieve independence. You’ll bring:

  • Experience working with vulnerable young people or those experiencing homelessness
  • Understanding of safeguarding, support planning and professional boundaries
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to stay calm and solution-focused under pressure
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
