Young People Support Worker
We are seeking a compassionate and resilient individual to support young people in Brent on their journey to independence.

Position: Young People Support Worker
Location: Brent
Salary: £27,636 per annum (including London weighting) plus pension and benefits
Hours: 37.5 hours per week on a rota including weekends and bank holidays
Contract: Permanent
Closing Date: Tuesday 21st October 2025

About the Role

This role forms part of a local supported housing service for 18–21-year-olds in Brent. You’ll help young people with complex needs such as mental health, substance use, and risk of exploitation to build life skills, sustain accommodation, and move towards independence through training, education and employment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage a small caseload of clients with complex needs
  • Carry out risk and needs assessments and develop personalised support plans
  • Work in partnership with external agencies including social care and health services
  • Support clients to manage their income and maintain tenancies
  • Encourage participation in education, employment and volunteering
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all residents
  • Contribute to health, safety and safeguarding processes

About You

You’ll be someone who’s passionate about making a difference to young people’s lives. You’ll bring:

  • Experience supporting vulnerable people, ideally with mental health or substance use needs
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour and maintain boundaries
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and risk management
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A flexible and reflective approach to work
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion

You’ll be joining a respected charity that provides accommodation and support to young people and adults at risk of homelessness. The organisation focuses on building resilience, preventing homelessness and creating opportunities for people to move towards independence through employment, training and education.
