Experienced Social Worker

About the Role

As an Experienced Social Worker, you will:

Undertake complex, person-centred assessments and support planning.
Manage a varied caseload, including safeguarding enquiries and Best Interests decisions.
Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues, mentoring newly qualified social workers and supervising junior staff.
Work collaboratively with health professionals, voluntary organisations, and other partners.
Prepare high-quality reports for court hearings and represent the Council when required.

You’ll play a key role in promoting independence, supporting carers, and ensuring compliance with the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding procedures.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

A qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
Experienced in strengths-based social work with adults, including safeguarding.
Skilled in assessment, risk management, and support planning.
Knowledgeable about health and social care legislation and guidance.
Able to communicate effectively and write clear, complex reports.

Desirable:

Postgraduate qualification (e.g., Practice Educator, Best Interests Assessor, AMHP).
Experience in formal supervision and appraisal.
