At Hammerson House, we provide exceptional care for over 100 residents across our residential, nursing, dementia, respite, and palliative care teams. 

We are looking for a Night Lead Nurse to provide senior clinical leadership during night shifts, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety for our residents. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to take the next step in their career, leading a dedicated team and making a real difference in the lives of those we care for.

What will your typical night involve?

As Night Lead Nurse, you will play a key role in maintaining the highest clinical standards while ensuring a supportive and well-structured care environment for residents and staff. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clinical leadership to Registered Nurses, Team Leaders, Senior Carers, and Health Care Assistants, ensuring high-quality care delivery.
  • Working closely with the Registered Manager and Household Manager, addressing staffing, quality concerns, and operational efficiency.
  • Overseeing medication management, audits, and clinical practices, ensuring compliance with CQC standards and best practices.
  • Supporting and mentoring team members, fostering a culture of learning and professional development.
  • Responding to incidents, concerns, and complaints with professionalism and compassion.
  • Promoting effective communication between teams, residents, and their families.
  • Upholding Jewish cultural practices, including dietary rules, religious observances, and end-of-life care.
  • Supporting HR processes, including attendance management, performance reviews, and disciplinary procedures.

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering person-centred care.

Essential requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (Level 2) with an ENB941 or certificated assessor qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of NMC guidelines and best practices in elderly care.
  • Experience in leading and supervising teams in a care setting.
  • Confidence in managing emergency situations, providing reassurance to residents and staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • IT proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Hours

Full-time – 37.5 hours per week (Night shifts) - Please note, dure to training or meetings you may be required to work sometime in the day time hower this will be agreed upon giving you notice.
