Relief Support Worker Workshops, L'Arche Highland

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

Hours of work: Variable (As and when needed. Normal working hours are Mon to Fri 9-5 pm)

Salary: £12.60 per hour

Reports to: Registered Manager Workshops

Place of work: L’Arche Highland Workshops

Contract type: Relief

Closing date: Wednesday, 30th April at 23:59

 

This role is not open for sponsorship and is best suited for candidates who already live in Inverness or the Highland area. 

This role may not be suitable for those living more than 30 miles away due to public transport limitations.

 

Main purpose of the role:

 

As a Relief Support Worker will help provide 1 to 1 support in various workshops including Candles, Garden, Life Skills and Woodwork.

 

 

Support of people with learning disabilities

You will:

  • Encourage individuals in their ongoing development of independence
  • Be open to support Core Members with their spiritual needs and growth.

 

 

Building an atmosphere of mutual relationships

You will:

  • Foster positive relationships with both Assistants and people with a learning disability
  • Assist in celebrations and support spiritual life so that there is an atmosphere of welcome and friendship

L’Arche Highland has been in Inverness since 1975 and we are a community of people with and without learning disabilities as well as a professional support and care provider.

We are part of a global network of communities where people with and without learning disabilities live and share in life together, working for a world where we all belong. 

We currently have five houses where people are supported to live as part of their wider neighbourhood, as well as our well-regarded workshops. We also support people to live in their own properties.
