Depute House Leader (Housing Support & Care at Home)

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

 

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £27,604.51 per annum

Reports to: House Leader/Registered Manager

Place of work: L’Arche Highland’s services currently based in and around Inverness.

Contract type: Permanent, Full-time

Closing date: Monday, 1st September at 9:30am

 

Notes: This position offers sponsorship and is best suited for candidates already located in Inverness and the Highland area.

 

Main purpose of the role:

 

As Deputy House Leader, you will deputise for the House Leader in their absence and provide direct care and support yourself. This role will cover one house and Independent Living Services as required. You will ensure our support and care is not only consistent with Care Inspectorate and SSSC requirements but also with the values of L’Arche. A strong commitment to these values, building community and the ability to inspire others in this endeavour is essential.

As a Deputy House Leader you will: 

  • Fulfil all aspects of the Care and Support worker's role. 
  • Deputise for House Leaders in their absence 
  • Participate in leading a team of Care and Support workers modelling best practice. 
  • Complete audits, observations and checks within designated houses. 
  • Assist the House Leaders with rostering, payroll returns and finding cover for absences. 
  • Take part in the Tier 1 on-call cover. 
  • Ensure that our adults with learning disabilities have active, healthy and safe lives. 
  • Ensure that the relief Care and Support workers pool is well used.
  • Support the House Leader to develop and maintain a positive culture to ensure that our adults with learning disabilities are empowered to make choices and take control over their lives, balancing the individual’s right to make choices and take reasonable risks, and their need to maintain a safe and healthy lifestyle.
  • Support people with learning disabilities with their personal and intimate care as required. This includes bathing, showering, dressing and assistance with eating and drinking
